F.A.Q.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a bookkeeper if I already have an accountant?
Yes. Bookkeepers and accountants usually perform different roles. A bookkeeper manages the day to day financial records, keeps your accounts organised and ensures everything is accurate and up to date throughout the year. Your accountant then uses this information to prepare year end accounts and provide tax advice. Having a bookkeeper in place often makes the accountant’s job more efficient and can save time and money.
What accounting software do you use?
We primarily work with cloud based software such as Xero, which allows both you and your bookkeeper to access your financial information in real time. This means your accounts are always up to date and accessible from anywhere. We can also support clients with related apps that automate processes such as receipt capture, invoice approvals and expense tracking.
Can you help if my bookkeeping is behind or disorganised?
Yes. Many clients come to us when their bookkeeping has fallen behind or their records need tidying up. We can review your current records, bring everything up to date and put processes in place to ensure your accounts stay organised moving forward.
Do you work with businesses remotely?
Yes. Because we use cloud based accounting software, we can support clients anywhere in the UK. Most of our work is completed remotely, although we also work with some local clients who prefer occasional in person support.
Will I still have control over my finances?
Absolutely. Our role is to support you and give you clarity over your financial information. You will always have full visibility of your accounts, and we will work with you to ensure you understand what the numbers mean for your business.
Can you help me understand my numbers better?
Yes. One of our main aims is to help business owners feel confident about their finances. Through management reports, regular reviews and clear explanations, we help you understand how your business is performing and what actions you may want to consider.
How do I get started?
The first step is usually a discovery call where we discuss your business, your current processes and the type of support you need. From there we can recommend the most suitable services and create a plan to get your finances organised and running smoothly.
